• University of New Mexico School of Medicine – Location: Albuquerque, NM

Founded in 1961, the University of New Mexico School of Medicine's mission is "to provide a healthy learning environment dedicated to excellence, inclusion, and diversity. We strive to fulfill the health needs of all New Mexicans, provide quality innovative resources, and foster lifelong learning." New Mexico School of Medicine accepts roughly 103 students each year into its MD program.

Prerequisite courses

  • General Biology I & II (with lab): 2 semesters
  • General Chemistry I & II (with lab:) 2 semesters
  • Organic Chemistry I & II (with lab): 2 semesters 
  • General Physics I & II: 2 semesters
  • Biochemistry*: 1 semester
  • *The biochemistry course should be at the 400 level
