Description:

As a research intern, I collaborated with medical engineers and tested prototypes for a device under development that measures hydration via capillary refill rates. I tested various parameters to determine reprogramming, redesign, or remanufacturing requirements. Furthermore, I performed repetitive tests to obtain baselines, ran measurements, compiled data, and manipulated testing conditions. I also identified optimal body testing locations to maximize easy access and accurate device readings. Working with diverse knowledge backgrounds allowed us to use a combined biology and engineering multidisciplinary approach. Lastly, I developed a creative design for the device to keep children using it entertained while it takes measurements.
