Description:

As a sophomore at the University of X, I worked on an independent research study to examine the balance of cognitive and emotional intelligence necessary to succeed in post-secondary education. My qualitative study examined holistic learning through emotional, physical, and mental dimensions at the faculties of Arts and Science. I studied the engagement of the “whole person” through semi-structured interviews and surveys conducted with course professors and students. In doing so, I used both analytical and creative types of thinking– a useful skill for effective critical thinking. My results aided in understanding the pedagogical role of Holistic Learning at my institution.
