Description

Through the tutoring company I have worked with for several years I was given the unique opportunity to work in the Kansas City Area this spring to work with newly immigrated individuals and the language barriers they face in their new life in the United States. Many of these individuals were younger than me and had left their homes to come to the States and pursue their American dream. My company contracted me to work with groups of employees from companies in Kansas City to develop English and Communication skills in the job environment. It was an incredible experience hearing the stories of my students and what brought them to the U.S. Their stories inspired me and the opportunity to help them in their pursuit of happiness was a privilege. The experience was also a test of applying my skills in communicating in different languages.
