Description:

I keenly remembered how I did well in Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology due to the help of my teaching assistant. To pay forward his assistance, I applied to become a Biology teaching assistant. I assisted with weekly lab setup, demonstrated lab activities to students, and met weekly with the professor to help develop the overall course structure for both its lab and lecture components. I also attended all lectures to assist with discussions and held weekly office hours. Students often came to me for help understanding complex biological concepts. I learned that by connecting concepts together to form a bigger picture, students could grasp the material better. This experience taught me how to teach and to communicate complex ideas.
