Prompt: Where do you see yourself post-graduate education? What experiences have led you to this goal? (500 characters)
My fascination in medicine started with a dissection of a piglet, which led me to join a surgery department lab where the PI is a chief surgeon at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital. I conduct research with surgeons who aim to solve complications following small bowel resection (SBR). I shadowed my PI doing SBR and ileoanal anastomosis surgeries. Through these experiences, I developed a passion for research and surgery. I am interested in gastrointestinal surgery with an academic background.
